REVIEW |
Chairperson:
Paul Hamlin, M.D. |
As a new member we would ask you to
become an active member in our Peer Review Committee . We have
approximately two hundred members in all different specialties.
The Nassau County Peer Review Committee has developed a program of
direct intervention with HCFA intermediaries in cases of payment
disputes for treatment of Medicare patients. Disputes with HMO's
and other carriers are also reviewed and intervention on behalf of
physicians is routinely offered. During its existence the Committee has
had an excellent success of cases adjudicated in favor of
physicians. The Committee has also established direct links with
congressional offices in cases of concern over HCFA
/ IPRO regulations and
their interpretations. This committee is an outstanding
opportunity for new physicians in their community to make contact with
colleagues and to work with them. To become a member of the peer
